Have You Signed Up For A Vaccine Yet?

barbour covid vaccineIf you haven’t yet, but would like to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, simply follow this link. This will take you to the Clark Country Health Department, and you can sign up to receive your vaccine. Right now, Americans have three options available to them, and as your Kahoka, MO, dentist will explain, we’re getting closer and closer to a return to normal!

You Should Be Vaccinated

All three of the versions available now (and the number could include four if the AstraZeneca version is approved) are safe to use, and have gone through multiple trials and tests before every being approved for use. When you become vaccinated, this means you’re now protected from COVID-19, unable to become sick even if you carry the virus. When others do the same, suddenly COVID-19 is unable to spread through the community. Our friends and neighbors are protected from this illness!

The Options Available

At the moment there are three different versions available. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines require two shots three weeks apart. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine only requires one shot. As of March 18th, over 116 million vaccines have been administered, with 30% of people over the age of 18 vaccinated. These numbers mean we’re doing our part, and a return to normal is possible! We’re not sure which ones will be available for you when you sign up, but know that all have been well-tested and are safe.

Keeping You and Your Family Safe

While we’re getting close to a return to normal, we’re not there yet. If we’re not careful, another spike in case is possible in the last months of the pandemic, but this spike is relatively easy to avoid if you take a few simple precautions. First, try to limit your presence in large indoor gatherings. If you must attend events, or go to work or school simply wearing a mask has been shown to be incredibly effective at preventing the spread of COVID-19. If you and your family need to get out of the house, try to choose outdoor events or activities, as spreading the virus outside (when not in a large crowd) is very difficult. So, mask up, maintain a good social distance, avoid indoor activities when possible. If you have any questions about our own protocols to keep patients and team members safe, or about the vaccines, we would be happy to talk to you.
